I have a confession to make! I've been keeping a very big secret from you :D On March 4, I took a pregnancy test and Geoff & I were shocked to see the above results! We even got another test (a completely different brand!) and tried again later that night just to make sure and the little plus sign came up before I even had a chance to put the cap back on! We were so surprised because we'd only been sorta-trying for less than 2 months and just didn't expect it to happen so quickly & easily. What a blessing! So far it's been quite an experience. The 6th-10th weeks were absolutely awful. I felt so nauseous & fatigued all the time. Never a break. I was having horrible food aversions and the thought of trying to make myself dinner was almost enough to send me into tears! I never had any vomiting thank goodness, but I felt on the verge all the time! Luckily it started easing up recently. Today marks the first day of my 2nd trimester and I've been feeling SO much better, it's amazing! ![]() my big ol' bump! Geoff's been beyond incredible through this whole experience. He's so adorably proud & excited about being a daddy. He's been really helpful around the house (especially when the thought of getting off the couch was torture for me) and is just being so awesome about taking care of me. I'm really lucky to have such a perfect husband. I don't know HOW I'd be able to go through this without him! Xander has also been really cute, he definitely sensed something even before we did. He's been much more affectionate than normal, and sleeps on my pillow or by my belly. Even when I'm on the couch, he often sits on it right above me! I've been calling him my Little Guardian, it's just so cute. Cordy is spastic & clueless however, haha. We've had 3 doctor's appointments so far with Dr. Moss. We absolutely love her, she's been great & even saw us last minute on 2 of those 3 visits. I've had a couple transvaginal ultrasounds which have been nothing short of amazing. We've been able to hear and see the baby's heartbeat, and on the last visit (this past Thursday), we even saw the little one kicking and waving his/her arms around! Everything has been really positive, we have no problems at all and the baby is healthy and right where he/she should be. Hooray! ![]() our little gummy bear two months into development! the head is on the left We find out in 2 more months whether it's a boy or a girl! We both think it's going to be a girl, but plenty of people in my family see it going the other way. We'll see! I'll put a poll at the end of this post to see what you guys think. My due date is November 9, which is hilarious because we already have SO many November birthdays among our friends/family (Geoff, Amanda, my dad, Anne, Joalena, Jenny, my aunt Jori, my cousin Sarah, etc etc etc). Maybe baby will come early & be a Halloween baby! Or even arrive on November 11th and be the ultimate lucky number experience of my life ;) That's pretty much it for now! Just living life and trying to take good care of myself. I'll definitely be posting frequently with updates on our little one. I'm just happy to finally be far enough along to tell the world :D Poll #1390700 baby stuff Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: All, participants: 40 will baby be a boy or girl? when will baby come?

congrats! you guys will be amazing parents!
I am sure if you think its a girl then that is what the baby will be! xoxoxo
It feels great to finally share the news, now you don't have to worry about it slipping ;) Haha like you would! Did you vote for your birthday in the due date poll?
(November babies ROCK btw...the 29th right here)
And yes, you are of course yet another November birthday baby! It's hilarious! I think a lot of people must conceive around Valentine's Day ;)
You are absolutely glowing & I'm so excited to be able to take part in this new journey you're on!
Warmest congrats again!
Thanks so much for your kind words Riikka!
I actually took a look at asphalt_lemony this morning,
but didn't come here. I guess I should have ;)
Congrats to both of you! It's so wonderful! You have
such an amazing journey ahead of you & you guys will
grow closer than ever, if that's even possible. & a
BABY...a freaking baby will be in your arms in less
than 9 months...how crazy cool is that?!
I'm thinking boy right now, but that could change.
Only because I wanted a girl & was convinced I was
going to have a girl & then everyone else around me
said it'd be a boy...lol. They were right, obviously.
Then again, a lot of Drewbies have had boys first, it
may be time for a girl first scenario ;) Either way,
I'm sure your bundle will be a cutie!
Yay for Geoff being so awesome. Now some of your
photo captions seem to take on new meaning.
Not that I'm the Dalai Lama of mom's or anything, but
if you ever need to talk, advice, questions, anything...
lemme know :)
It's true, somehow we do feel even closer & more in love, it's pretty amazing. I can't wait until we can feel the baby's movement, because right now it's still hard for me to realize that this is actually going on INSIDE of me!
I'll definitely be heading to you with any questions. I'm swimming these seas pretty alone right now, as none of my friends have gotten pregnant (yet!) and barely any of my family (just one cousin who lives far away).
Congratulations!!!!
Totally OT, but I keep meaning to tell you my neighbor's license plate is your name! I gotta snap a picture for you.
This is incredible, congrats! I'm glad to hear you are feeling better now.Another friend of mine at LJ is pregnant. She'sonly 9 weeks but she still feels very sick, so it's good to hear at least you are fine now.
I hopeyou willhave a wonderful pregnancy and a beautiful and healthy baby. Can't wait formore belly & baby pics! :)
Tell your friend that as horrible as life seems right now, it WILL get better! I've been writing this post in my head for weeks & it was originally going to include a laundry list of my complaints. But now they don't even seem worth mentioning, so I've definitely turned a corner :)
I can only hope that my baby pictures will be 1/2 as gorgeous as the ones you take of your friend's baby!
That must've been really rough for your friend, I can't imagine a plane ride in the throes of pregnancy nausea :P
I totally see you having a girl. That's really what I imagine. A boy would be amazing too. It's just for some reason I picture you guys with a lil' girl. Either way, he/she is going to be perfect!
.. can't wait to follow along on your journey through your stories and updates and pictures.
I love you! *Waves to baby Lampton*
Thank you for the beautiful comment. Even though you already knew, your excitement hasn't wavered at all!
It would be great if you could come out here sometime soon. I'm sure I'll see you at some point while I've got the bun in the oven!
xoxo
Look - you got me back on the LJ & everything! Hehe. I am so happy for the two of you. Can't wait to start reading about nursery decor and mommy-hood! Although I am a few years from feeling "ready" myself, I get so much joy from seeing all my friends expanding their families :)
This deserves a *SQUEE*!
I bet a lot of your Knot pals are now on The Bump, huh? It'll be nice to watch other people go through it before you, I'm definitely the guinea pig among my friends & family and really want some other people to catch up with me, haha!
i voted for girl and november 11.
Good choices on the poll, those are what I'm hoping for!
(PS - love your icon so much!)
